View Larger Image   Stanley No 5 Jack Plane Type 7   Description: Offering this nice clean Stanley Bailey No 5 Jack Plane Type 7 with the smooth bottom, dated 1893-99; blade bears the "STANLEY PAT. APL 1992" mark. The plane is in very good condition with some minor wear on the original black Japaning, but about 90% still intact; bear metal surfaces good+ condition, no cracks or chips, a few small dings, clean, some staining or darkening of the finish. The 2 inch wide blade is clean, ready to work, no cracks or chips; cutter is nice and sharp with plenty of stock left for resharpening. The type of Stanley plane is a bit shorter than the later types, measuring 13.4" long overall. The rosewood handle is solid and clean; very minor wear - few small chips off the top edges, very solid. Rosewood knob is in very good shape, solid and clean, minor dings, no cracks or chips. Marked "NO. 5" on the bed, and three patent dates marked on the lateral lever, the last is 7/24/88.
