View Larger Image   Atkins Perfection No. 65 Silver Steel Cross Cut Hand Saw Rare!   Description: This is a nice clean old E.C. ATKINS crosscut hand-saw in very good condition overall! This one has a nice etch on the 26" long blade (steel only), and reads "ATKINS PERFECTION SILVER STEEL E.C. ATKINS & CO. INDIANAPOLIS IND. MADE IN U.S.A. PATENTED JULY 7, 1896 DAMASKEED, NO. 65 SHIP POINT". There is also some other writing about the quality of the saw next to this mark. The handle is apple wood, and has a unique "AAA ATKINS" mark with the logo over the name. All the fitting are nickel plated, and the plating is about 95% intact. The handle is very solid, has some wear and dings, but over 90% of the clear finish is still intact. It appears the handle was once cracked, but has a very good glue, and screw pin repair, that we tested by removing the screw that goes up from the bottom into the rear grip section of the handle, the glue is holding, and the handle was very solid even without the screw in place. There is a hairline that can be seen, but the saw shows very well, as it is unique, and a top quality saw. There is 11 teeth points per inch, they are sharp, none missing, nicely sharped, the blade is 99% straight, no kinks.
