View Larger Image   Stanley Victor No. 704 Zig Zag Folding Rule 4 foot   Description: This is a very nice, clean 4 foot, zig zag folding rule, with a rare patent date! It is marked "PAT'D 2-4-19 MADE IN U.S.A." but no maker's mark. There is little doubt that this is a Victor rule as the concealed joints it has were patented in 1917, and most of these we have seen have the 1917 patent date rather than the 1919 patent date like this one. This rule has a lightly press marked that reads "SEC." in two places, and I assume this is because of the patent date mis-mark in one place that reads "PAT'D 2-4-1", as I see no other reason that this rule might have been considered to be a second, as it is in great shape, has 16ths inch graduations on both sides, It has 4 foot total length, steel end tips, and concealed steel joints, all in very good condition. It is very straight, with very good markings. There is no cracks or damage to report, a very well made rule. These were often sold for use in the textile or clothing industry.
