View Larger Image   Stanley Jack Plane No. 5C Type 6A   Description: Offering this nice clean Stanley Bailey No 5 Jack Plane Type 6A with the corrugated bottom, dated 1890's; blade bears the "STANLEY PAT. APL 1992" mark. The plane is in very good condition with some minor wear on the original black Japanning, but about 75% still intact; bear metal surfaces good+ condition, no cracks or chips, a few small dings, clean, some staining or darkening of the finish, some minor pitting noted on the upper areas of the lever cap and the cutter. The 2 inch wide blade is clean, ready to work, no cracks or chips; cutter is nice and sharp with plenty of stock left for resharpening, no pitting in the cutting edge area. The type of Stanley plane is a bit shorter than the later types, measuring 13.4" long overall. The rosewood handle is solid and clean; very minor wear - few small chips off the top edges, very solid, a few letters stamped on the one side of the tote. Rosewood knob is in very good shape, solid and clean, minor dings, no cracks or chips. Marked "NO. 5" on the bed.
