View Larger Image   Pick and Blade Tool   Description: I understand this tool was used in a papermill to guide logs to a vat. The pick would be used to grasp and pull jams of small logs and the blade could be used to cut off small extrusions to avoid jams. Measures 15.25 in. long. The blade, pick is about 8 in. diameter in width. A new or different handle has been applied to replace the original one.Maker is unknown. this tool would be from the '50's era or earlier. THE BLADE & PICK TOOL IS IN FACT A WWII RAF ESCAPE AXE.SOMEONE MAY HAVE USED IT IN LOGGING BUT THAT'S NOT WHAT IT WAS FOR.IT WAS USED TO ESCAPE DOWNED AIRCRAFT.
