Up for sale is a wonderfully preserved, authentic 1950s/1960s Mid-Century Modern advertising mascot figurine named \"Glassy.\" Produced during the post-WWII Japanese ceramic export boom, this whimsical character was designed as a countertop or desk promotional utility for an auto glass repair shop, commercial glazier or industrial glass manufacturer. The figurine features a high-gloss glazed finish depicting a friendly service technician/installer complete with molded, blue-rimmed glasses, a worker\'s cap and a white uniform accented with a clean blue neckline and waistline stripe. The name \"GLASSY\" is painted across his chest. He is holding an original, factory-fused clear plastic display bracket designed to hold a stack of standard paper business cards or a calendar tab on a storefront service counter.

Stamped with a clean \"JAPAN\" mark along the side rim of the base.

The fragile, original clear plastic card holder is completely intact and securely attached to the hands with no cracks or heavy yellowing. The blue \"cold paint\" details on the uniform, shoes and glasses have virtually no flaking or fading. No chips, cracks or repairs noted to the ceramic 3.5 inches tall, 1.5-inch base width and 2.25 inches piece of glass width.
