100% original USGI WWII M1 Garand Rifle Gas Cylinder Lock Screw or Gas Plug. Government or Ordnance part # B147851. Second vented lock screw for use with the M7 launcher. Marked with what appears to be a double struck S. This I believe is a Springfield Armory made part; I could be mistaken. Use the part number listed to research this. Listed as used surplus covered in grease.
Take a good look at the photographs to be comfortable with the S marking. Thou not extremely common, you do find plenty of USGI parts, be it M1 rifle, M1 carbine etc. that have markings that looked double struck or partial from a damaged die.
