For sale is a restored and rescaled F. Fenney Tally-Ho. This particular razor has a beautifully worked spine and an immaculate full hollow grind and a small mock barbers notch and sits at 13/16 width. It is a pretty rare style of original F. Fenney Tally-Ho. It is the perfect size for overall shaving imo. Enough heft without being so bulky you can't get under your nose.
Scaled in new buffalo horn scales with a hand made white wedge giving it a unique and eye catching look and pinned with classic beehive style collars befitting the era it was made.
I have owned a lot of tally-ho razors and this is definitely one of my favorites. They are supreme Sheffield blades which I consider tied for the best razors made in that era. They are almost always free of the warps and geometry issues a lot of 1800's Sheffield blades have and it's not a surprise they were winning awards in the mid 19th century.
Fully honed in proper progression under magnification and finished on a Yellow-Green Escher/Thuringian for a smooth keen shaving edge. If you prefer a different type of finisher or have an edge you would like to try just send me a message, I have just about every kind of finisher you would want including genuine old rock and deep rock coticules and many types of jnats.
Has some very minor staining and pitting but nothing that will affect the edge. It's better to leave these things than sand/grind down the blade and lose the original geometry, especially with a worked spine in my opinion. The less material removed the better on old razors.
