Provenance:The handwritten nameat the top of the first pagerefers toCharles Olden(occasionlly spelledOlden), the subscriber of the newspaper. Olden was a prominent high-end Philadelphia merchant and tailor active in the late 18th century. The Olden/Oldden family was a well-known Quaker family with deep roots extending into Princeton, New Jersey. The name "S. Lake" in front of Olden could have one ofseveral explanations, such as being the name of a mail carrier, or a neighbor who picked up the paper for Olden.
Condition: Fair to good. Moderate browning and foxing, typical mailing fold creases, some weakness to spine, period owner inscription. Text legible.
