1831 Release & Quitclaim – Augustus Alexander Bowers Middlesex MA Estate Bond Heir
Original handwritten legal release and quitclaim document dated September 14, 1831, executed by Augustus Alexander Bowers of Charlestown, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, concerning his inherited share of an estate bequest originally made under the will of Wheler (Wheeler) Bowers, dated May 26, 1820.
The document explains that Wheler Bowers bequeathed $2,000 to each child of Alexander Bowers and his wife Mary Bowers (except Mary Johnson Bowers), payable when each child reached age twenty-one. Henry Norwood/Norworth of Malden acted as surety on the bond for faithful payment. In this instrument, Augustus Alexander Bowers acknowledges receipt of his proportion and releases and forever discharges the surety from any further obligation related to his share.
