Original handwritten letter dated September 26, 1884, written on attractive illustrated The National Hotel letterhead from Peoria, Illinois. The ornate printed masthead reads "Peoria's New Hotel – The National" with W. H. Murtagh, Proprietor beneath.

The single-page letter measures approximately 5.75 x 9.5 inches and contains a brief handwritten business/personal message mentioning travel to Chicago. The letter is written on lined hotel stationery with the decorative hotel engraving remaining crisp and highly displayable. The reverse is blank aside from show-through from the ink.

This piece is an excellent example of late-19th-century American hotel ephemera, combining an attractive Victorian commercial letterhead with original manuscript correspondence. It would appeal to collectors of Illinois history, Peoria memorabilia, historic hotels, travel ephemera, and antique letterheads.

Authentic period piece related to family, historyor local heritage - well-suited for historical collections, genealogical /genealogy research, or museum acquisition.Vintage or Antique.
