London: Stevens and Haynes Law Publishers, 1886. Hardcover. 313 pp. A very nice copy inscribed by Clarke to R.D. Muir. Adelaide was accused of murdering her husband with chloroform. She was acquitted. Edward Clarke was her lawyer. Clarke would go on to defend Oscar Wilde in his criminal libel case.
