Original 19th-century albumen photograph mounted to card, titled in the negative “3851. Certosa di Pavia – Facciata della Chiesa.” This title and plate number correspond to the catalog of Giacomo Brogi / Edizioni Brogi, Florence. Hand-dated on the verso “19th June 1891.” The photograph shows the richly ornamented façade of the Certosa di Pavia with strong architectural detail and excellent tonal range. Condition is very good, with light mount wear only. Large-format albumen print measuring approximately 13 × 16 inches. A fine and authentic example of late 19th-century Italian architectural photography by one of the period’s most important studios.
