Original handwritten letter dated July 22, 1893, written on official State of Iowa Senate Chamber letterhead. The letter was written from Storm Lake, Iowa, signed by James M. Mack, and addressed to Geo. O. Burrington, Esq.
Mack responds to an inquiry concerning Isaiak Watkins, noting that he does not know the individual personally but suggests that J. M. Horton of Sioux Rapids, Iowa, could likely provide the desired information. He apologizes for the brevity of the letter, explaining that he has \"a very bad hand\" and can hardly write.
Mack also shares personal news, stating that his brother, John Mack, had died very suddenly on June 21, attributing the cause to \"paralysis of the brain.\" He closes with friendly regards and asks Burrington to write again when time permits.
