Original 1895 handwritten letter on "James W. Eldridge, Real Estate and Fire Insurance" letterhead from Hartford, Connecticut. Dated August 27, 1895, from “Edgewood, Short Beach,” the letter thanks the recipient for a mailing list and requests additional names. Eldridge mentions and lists prominent individuals, likely political or governmental contacts, including B.F. Butler, Lockwood Henry N., Robinson John C., Faulkner Chief CSA, and others. This is a fascinating historical document reflecting political networking or campaign correspondence in the late 19th century. Great item for collectors of political ephemera, Connecticut history, or autograph letters. Measures approx. 8.5" x 11", good condition with age-related wear.
