Original 1906 real photo postcard (RPPC) featuring five U.S. soldiers posed outdoors at what appears to be a military camp with four small puppies, rifles, cartridge belts, a clearly marked U.S. canteen, and canvas tent in the background.
This postcard was mailed from Jeffersonville, Indiana and bears a July 17, 1906 postmark with its original one-cent U.S. stamp. The reverse is addressed to "Bessie B. Green" with additional handwritten notation. No photographer or publisher is identified.
The image captures an unusual and appealing military scene combining early 20th-century U.S. Army life with camp mascots (puppies), making it desirable to collectors of militaria, military dogs, real photo postcards, and pre-World War I Americana.
Condition is Good antique condition. The postcard shows age-related toning, scattered surface wear, edge and corner wear, light soiling, and moderate fading consistent with its age. The image remains clear, with good detail visible in the soldiers, uniforms, rifles, puppies, and U.S. canteen. The reverse has normal postal wear, handwritten address, original stamp, and Jeffersonville 1906 postmark.
A scarce and visually striking original military RPPC with an uncommon subject that would make an excellent addition to any military, postcard, or early photography collection.
