📖 Back Story
The 1910 Alfa Romeo Milano logo was created when the brand was first established as Anonima Lombarda Fabbrica Automobili in Milan. The red cross pays homage to the city of Milan, while the serpent (Biscione) represents the Visconti family, one of Italy’s most powerful dynasties. The addition of the Savoy knots symbolizes the Kingdom of Italy. This emblem stood proudly on Alfa’s earliest racing cars and road machines, making it one of the most iconic beginnings in automotive history.
