Incredible piece of Irish Edwardian history in an original weekly guest invoice for the prestigious Grand Hotel in Malahide, County Dublin dated September 15-21, 1913. Fascinating backstory....Invoice is made out to M.J. Pigot, Esq. (clear reference to the prominent Dublin legal dynasty of Jones Quain Pigot, the wealthy son of the historic Chief Baron of the Irish Exchequer). Archives show that Mr. Pigot actually passed away at the Grand Hotel on November 22, 1913, just 2 months after the date of this invoice.
Details on the invoice include the price for "Servants Board" at 6 shillings/day. See affixed stamp receipt featuring the vibrant pink hotel ticket officially canceled with an authentic King George V 1d carmine revenue stamp and a purple ink hotel cancel stamp.
