Antique 1914 Raphael Tuck & Sons “Young Love” Valentine postcard featuring a charming young girl creating an oversized red heart while a boy holds the red yarn, with a tiny Cupid/cherub illustrated at lower left.
The romantic verse reads: “My heart grows larger every minute just thinking of you my Valentine.”
Published by Raphael Tuck & Sons as part of the “Young Love” Series of Valentine Post Cards No. 27. Printed in Saxony. The reverse features Tuck’s royal coat of arms and easel-and-palette trademark.
Written and addressed in pencil to Mr. Melvin Truitt but apparently never postally mailed; no stamp or cancellation is present.
An attractive Golden Age Valentine from one of the best-known postcard publishers, and one of ten designs in Raphael Tuck’s 1914 “Young Love” Valentine Series No. 27.
