The Missionites were a San Francisco social club rooted in the Mission District — a president, a standing committee, membership cards checked at the door, and evening meetings organized around a table. Dr. C. E. Jones led the club in 1915. Joseph Lahaney raised the pigs for the July gathering himself. The card cleared the San Francisco post office at 1:30 in the morning on July 6, 1915, under a machine slogan advertising the Panama-Pacific Exposition.
