1920 Polish Allegory Woman Eagle Shield Vintage Postcard 4P24-16 For Sale

Color illustration of a seated woman in a blue patterned robe beside a red shield bearing a white eagle, with a flying eagle and radiant sun above a distant landscape. The Polish verse reads: Nadziejo nasza! Obyś się ziściła / I Polska Cała napowrót odżyła. Reverse imprint names Wydawnictwo Salonu Malarzy Polskich w Krakowie and gives 1920, with Ser. 95. Nr. 19. Kraków is the publisher location; the illustrated landscape is not identified. The reverse has no postal message or stamp, but has small pencil and blue ink annotations near the edge. Front shows conspicuous white scuffing and creasing near the upper-left area when the illustration is upright, with worn corners and edges. Reverse shows a broad irregular area of surface paper loss along the address-side edge, plus discoloration and scattered marks.Original postcard.
