Wonderful early electric flat iron manufactured by Central Flatiron Mfg. Co. of Johnson City, New York. The identification plate is marked “Duo Point,” a model documented in period advertising from the 1920s.
Features a substantial metal iron body with an attractive turned wooden handle and includes a vintage Belden No. 400 cloth-covered detachable appliance cord, marked 5A 250V / 10A 125V.
The iron shows authentic age-related wear, oxidation, discoloration and surface patina consistent with an approximately 100-year-old household appliance. The manufacturer’s plate is worn but remains partially readable. Please review all photographs closely as they are an important part of the condition description.
The iron and cord are being sold untested. Due to the age of the electrical components and cloth-covered wiring, the cord should not be plugged in or used without inspection by a qualified professional. Sold primarily as an antique collectible/display piece.
