1920s Hand Painted "The Shoemakers" Trade Sign With Carved Letters & The Cobbler For Sale

A rarity in the category of trade signs, a unique hand painted 1920s shop advertisement for shoe making. It features a wonderfully illustrated cobbler at his work bench with "The Shoemakers" tag written underneath in raised carved letters. The painting is Art Deco in style and features a proud young gentleman working on a shoe. The clean haircut, the bowtie, and the long leather apron are a representation of his mannerism and quality of workmanship. The painting's color palette is extraordinary as well; Olive green for the background, with antique off-white for the shirt, brown for the apron, and a little touch of copper-orange for the bowtie and bench edge. Rounding it off is the gray for the tools. The cobbler is holding a nail in his left hand ready to hammer it in to the shoe in progress... with a slight gaze at us, as if to say watch and see how it's done. As to proportions, there's a little oddity between the hands, but we think that adds to the mystic of it all.
