1920s Stutz RA Egyptian Sun God Hood Ornament Mascot Vintage
Description
Offered is a striking1920s Stutz RA Egyptian-style Sun God hood ornament / radiator mascot, featuring the distinctive stylized human head with dramatic horizontal winged headdress.
This is an impressive early automotive mascot with a strongEgyptian Revival / Art Decoappearance, a design style that became extremely fashionable during the 1920s following the discovery of Tutankhamun's tomb.
The ornament features a detailed male face, deeply modeled headdress or helmet, and long horizontal side extensions. The rear of the piece has a small circular casting/manufacturer mark visible in the photographs.
This example displays extremely well and has a substantial, sculptural appearance.
Condition
Vintage unrestored condition. The photographs show age-related surface wear, pitting, oxidation, plating loss and casting deterioration, particularly along the long horizontal side extensions. There are scratches, small pits and other imperfections consistent with an early automotive ornament of this age.
The face retainsvery good definition, including the eyes, nose, mouth and headdress details. Both long side extensions are present.
I do not see an obvious major break to the face itself. Please study all photographs closely for exact condition, as they form an important part of the description.
Final sale no returns
