The front retains its original 2-cent U.S. postage stamp and is clearly postmarked Miami, Florida, Oct. 26, 1921. It was addressed and contains period handwritten correspondence, giving the piece additional postal-history interest.
The accordion-fold interior contains numerous color views of early Miami and Miami Beach, including the White Temple, Carl Fisher Residence, Indian Trail at Coconut Grove, Dade County Court House and Confederate Monument, Post Office and Custom House, 12th Street, Royal Palm Hotel, Brickell’s Point, Miami Beach swimming pool, William Jennings Bryan winter home, James Deering estate on Biscayne Bay, and other early Miami scenes.
Condition shows considerable age and handling, including toning, creasing, edge and corner wear, small tears, separation/wear along some folds, staining/marks, and writing.
