Historic Photo
Flags at Half Mast for Warren Harding\'s Death
Exposition Auditorium, San Francisco
August 10th, 1923This photograph isfrom a collection belonging to a Japanese American family living in California circa 1900s to 1940s.Photo is dated August 10th, 1923 but the rest of the information is in Japanese. It took some detective work to figure out what I was looking at. When I saw the flags at half-mast I remembered John McCain\'s recent death and looked for any political personages who might have passed away in 1923.President Warren G. Harding passed away on August 2nd, 1923 in San Francisco. This photo was snapped eight days later. So that explains it!!Photo Measures 3.25 x 5.5 Inches.
