This is an exceptionally rare, original 1924 Roaring Twenties municipal government pocket manual and directory titled "City Government Committees, Rules and Orders, Etc., Worcester, Mass." Printed by the Stobbs Printing Co. of Worcester, this official executive booklet was issued in strictly limited quantities exclusively for the personal use of sitting city officials and council members.
The directory provides a comprehensive, unedited look into the political machinery of Worcester in 1924. It contains a complete table of contents logging municipal departments (including the Fire Department, Board of Health, and public library trustees), full internal rules of order for legislative sessions, and complete committee assignments for sitting aldermen and common councilmen. Pages 14 and 15 track the explicit committee roles of prominent Worcester civic figures including Andrew A. Anderson, John A. Anderson, William A. Bennett, William B. Blake, Charles F. Collins, Howard W. Cowee, Gottfred B. Fryberg, and Victor E. Hillman, among others.
The volume features a premium, official maroon morocco leather binding with a gold/silver-stamped title and an embossed City of Worcester seal on the front cover. The interior features green textured endpapers and a full 1924 monthly calendar page.
