These refills were designed for Richard Hudnut’s innovative Deauville Doublette vanity compact, introduced during the height of the Art Deco era.Unlike the compacts themselves—which appear on the market from time to time—boxed refill sets were consumable items that were intended to be used and discarded. Complete examples like this are seldom encountered today, especially with all three matching refills, the original instruction insert, powder puff, and stock box still together. Comparable Deauville compacts are regularly found, but complete refill sets are notably scarcer.
