Original vintage black-and-white snapshot photograph identified on the reverse as Mr. Ray Mann of Electra, Texas.
The photograph shows a well-dressed man standing outdoors beside trees and a body of water. He wears a light-colored shirt, dark trousers and a tie and appears to be holding a hat or another small object in front of him.
The handwritten notation on the reverse appears to read:
“Mr. Ray Mann
Feb. 26, 1927
Electra, Tex.”
Electra is located in Wichita County in North Texas, near the Wilbarger County line. The town developed rapidly following the discovery of oil in the Electra area in 1911 and became closely associated with the early Texas petroleum industry.
Genealogical research suggests a possible connection to Roy James Mann, born May 1, 1891, in the Vernon area of Wilbarger County, Texas, who later lived in Wichita County. However, the photograph’s inscription appears to say “Ray Mann,” and this possible identification has not been conclusively established. The photograph is therefore being offered according to the name written on its reverse.

CONDITION
Poor to fair vintage condition with substantial age and handling wear. The photograph has numerous heavy creases, wrinkles and bends, including pronounced horizontal and diagonal creasing across the image. The lower-left corner is heavily creased and folded, and additional creasing is visible near the upper-right corner and along the borders. There is edge wear, corner wear, surface soiling, age toning and general discoloration.
The reverse has handwritten identification, date and location, along with older pencil price or inventory notations. Despite the condition issues, the subject remains clearly visible and the identifying information is largely legible. Please examine both scans carefully for the complete condition.
