Step back into the Roaring Twenties with this fascinating, fully authentic 1928 "Federal Gift Book" prize premium catalog, issued by the Federal Mail Order Corp. of Broadway, New York. This pocket-sized piece of retail history shows how independent sales agents—often children or neighborhood clubs—earned high-quality merchandise by selling American chocolates.
The booklet is a treasure trove of late-1920s pop culture, most notably featuring the iconic 17" Ideal "Flossie Flirt" composition doll, complete with descriptions of her walking, talking, and "mischievous flirting" eye mechanisms. It also showcases classic Art Deco ladies' wristwatches, men's strap watches, jazz-age sweaters, and many other items.
Remarkably, the interior remains complete with its original sheet of colorful Art Deco "pull" coupons and the original brown paper mail-in order envelope tucked inside. It is a fantastic addition for collectors of antique dolls, vintage advertisements, or 1920s New York fashion ephemera.
