Offered here is a standout vintage Brookins one liquid quart glass oil bottle with a red rigid plastic / Bakelite-style screw-on pouring spout and matching red dust cap.
The glass bottle is embossed with the Brookins script logo, The Cincinnati Ball Crank Co., Cincinnati, Ohio, One Liquid Quart, and multiple approval markings including MASS seal, P.R. #195 R.D., NYC B-11, PA-O-1-3, and the 55 MINN triangle.
The base shows the Owens-Illinois diamond / oval / I style maker mark with plant code 7 and single-digit date code 6, consistent with 1936 glass manufacture. This gives the bottle strong pre-war service-station and petroliana appeal.
The red spout and matching cap are the standout display feature. In a sea of glass oil bottles with common black, plain, or tarnished metal spouts, this red setup gives the bottle a bold shelf presence. It presents extremely well in a petroliana, garage, gas station, oil bottle, or automotive advertising collection.
The underside / interior rim of the spout is marked “MFG BY PLASTIC ENG CLEVELAND O”. Based on our research, red accessory spouts and matching caps for glass oil bottle setups are not commonly seen, and surviving complete red spout-and-cap examples appear scarce. Research shows red accessory spout examples existed in this collecting category, but we cannot confirm or deny that this exact spout and cap are factory original to this specific 1936 Brookins bottle.
Condition is good vintage used condition. No cracks found. Glass shows normal age-related wear including light scratches, residue, bubbles, manufacturing marks, and surface wear from use and storage. The red spout and cap show scuffs, scratches, edge wear, and handling wear. Identification, dating, and accessory details are based on visible markings and our best good-faith research. We are not experts on this item, so buyers should review all photos and make their own final determination before purchase.

Brookins was a service-station equipment name associated with The Cincinnati Ball Crank Co. of Cincinnati, Ohio. Glass quart oil bottles like this were used in gas stations for dispensing bulk motor oil before disposable oil cans fully took over. This example pairs an early 1936 embossed Brookins glass bottle with a highly attractive marked red accessory spout and matching cap, making it a much more eye-catching display piece than many standard oil bottle examples.
