ORIGINAL 1937 DARLA HOOD OUR GANG HAL ROACH MGM PUBLICITY PHOTO WITH ORIGINAL STUDIO CAPTION
Offered is an original vintage black and white studio publicity photograph featuring Darla Hood, one of the most beloved child stars of Hal Roach’s Our Gang comedies, later known as The Little Rascals.
Included is the original attached studio publicity caption which reads:
EXCLUSIVE
OUR GANG
Darla Hood, a member of the famous Hal Roach M-G-M juvenile screen unit “Our Gang.” She will soon be seen in Hal Roach’s comedy, “The Pigskin Palooka.”
This wording indicates the photograph was distributed before the release of The Pigskin Palooka, making it an original pre-release publicity photograph from 1937.
The portrait shows Darla in a beautifully lit close-up studio pose with exceptional detail and contrast. A Hal Roach production code is printed in the lower right image area, further supporting its originality as a studio-issued publicity photograph.
Approximate size is 8 x 10 inches.
Condition is Good to Very Good vintage condition. The photograph displays strong image quality with sharp detail and rich black and white tones. Visible flaws include light surface wear, scattered tiny surface marks, mild edge and corner wear, slight overall waviness, and a diagonal crease at the lower right corner. The reverse shows age toning and adhesive staining from the original attached publicity caption. The caption remains attached, complete, and easily readable.
This is an original vintage studio publicity photograph, not a modern reproduction.
A wonderful collectible for fans of Our Gang, The Little Rascals, Hal Roach Studios, MGM, classic Hollywood, child actors, and vintage movie memorabilia.
