1937 King George VI Coronation Christian Science Monitor A.C. Webb Illuminated.
Original 1937 Christian Science Monitor "Coronation Color Section," published April 22, 1937 to celebrate the coronation of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth. Illustrated by American artist Alonzo C. Webb (1888–1975), an etcher, architect, and illustrator known for illuminated, gilt calligraphic work.
The centerfold is a striking double-page gilded map titled "The Commonwealth of Nations — Or the British Empire," with Empire territories highlighted in color and flanked by the heraldic arms of Australia, Canada, South Africa, and New Zealand, along with King George VI's own coat of arms. The reverse features decorated portraits of King George VI, Queen Elizabeth, and Princesses Elizabeth and Margaret.
Printed on a single large sheet, folded as originally issued to approximately [your folded dimensions]. Full unfolded size is approximately 11 1/4" x 15 3/4".
