• Johnny Longden (Hall of Fame Jockey): Just four years away from winning the 1943 Triple Crown on Count Fleet. He eventually set a world record with 6,032 career wins.
• Alfred Gwynne Vanderbilt II: A "Pillar of the Turf," owner of Sagamore Farm (Native Dancer), and the mastermind who arranged the iconic 1938 Seabiscuit vs. War Admiral match race.
• George La Maze: Prominent high-society stable manager and racing official associated with the Vanderbilt operations.
