Subject: 100th Anniversary of the First U.S. Postage Stamp (1847–1947) Centenary. The 3¢ deep blue stamps feature portraits of George Washington and Benjamin Franklin alongside historical methods of carrying mail (Pony Express, steam train, ocean liner, and airplane).

The Cachet (Artwork): Created by Cachet Craft / Ken Boll (noted on the bottom edge). It features a incredibly vibrant, multi-colored Art Deco style illustration celebrating the centenary.

Special Stamp Feature: It features a Block of 4 stamps (Scott #947).

The Autograph: Hand-signed in fountain pen by Jesse M. Donaldson, with his official red ink stamp \"POSTMASTER GENERAL\" right beneath it. Donaldson served as the 53rd U.S. Postmaster General from 1947 to 1953 under President Harry S. Truman. He was unique because he was the very first career postal worker to rise through the ranks all the way to the top position.
