Offered is an original 1948 Democratic National Convention balcony admission ticket for the First Session held on July 12, 1948 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This historic convention nominated President Harry S. Truman for re-election, setting the stage for one of the greatest upset victories in presidential election history.
The ticket remains in very good vintage condition, especially considering it is nearly 80 years old. Colors remain attractive with light expected age wear. The reverse contains period handwriting that appears to read \"Rev. James Collins, Catholic Mission.\" While I cannot verify whether this identifies the original attendee, it is an intriguing piece of the ticket\'s history and has been left untouched.
