Esso for many years was the marketing name of Standard Oil Company. Like most petroleum retailers of old, it provided touring services to customers.
For sale is a letter from Esso Touring Services dated August 25, 1949 transmitting maps and other information to a traveler. At that time, there was no word processing, and the letter was hand-typed, indicative of the service provided.
The letter measures appx 10 1/4 x 7 1/4 inches and is printed on medium-weight paperstock. It is in excellent condition, with no rips or tears; all writing/markings are from its original use.
