1950s HUMMEL FIGURINE / Mother’s Darling 175 / FULL BEE MARK / Bisque Porcelain For Sale

In 1935, German porcelain manufacturer introduced its first line of figurines based on the drawings of nun Maria Innocentia Hummel. After the end of World War II, the popularity of Hummel figurines grew as American soldiers stationed in West Germany began sending the figurines home as gifts. The peak of the Hummel craze was in the 1970’s. Goebel ceased production of the figurines in 2008.

This figurine is called Mother’s Darling and a TMK-2 trademark on the bottom dates the piece to between 1950-55. Older examples of Hummels are worth more than the newer ones. The figurine measures 5 7/8 inches tall by 5 1/4 inches wide and is in excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs.
