Note, I previously had this listing up with 2 additional pictures....of an Aston Martin DB3 (car #100). I ended that listing in November and am now selling those photos separately. You can see parts of those photos in the pics for this listing but they are of course not included.
Listing is for all 8 original photographs and the rolls of negatives in the pictures. Does not include any digital images. These original pictures were taken by my dad. To my knowledge, until this listing they have never before been shared.Always from smoke free homes. See my related listings and check back as I have more to post from 1955-1961. Yes, I can combine shipping (USA only -see comment at bottom) just do not pay until I send invoice.
If only interested in a certain driver or car let me know and I will consider separating and let me know if you want to see a better image of a specific photograph or negative that I have noted below.
My dad also had the program with the entry lists and they were in an envelope with the race title so I am pretty sure that the photographs are from the 1st Annual Glen Classic Sports car races held July 5-6, 1957.The car numbers and car types on the entry list match up with what I have but I trust that you know if I have the wrong name or car type connected with a car #. Some of the information is from online sources. Please don't assume that I am positive who these drivers or what the car types are.
Although they are in focus the photographs have some blemishes which do not all appear in my pictures. The photo paper has some wrinkling or waviness to it. You can also pick out some minor creases and dents. Also some edgewear including bent edges. Some dust marks in the pictures. My dad self developed all of these.
Imperfections in these pictures/negatives such as scratches can likely be removed with modern graphics programs but I have made no such attempts. One of the negative strips has a crease in parts of it....see last picture. This is car #77
See picture 8 of the #8 car. There is a vertical line that goes the entire length of the pic (top to bottom)...it passes through the car just behind the left headlight (looking at the picture its the one on the right). Other pictures also have this faint line and it's also on most of the negatives
Drivers in the pictures include the following and I have confirmed the negative for each is on one of the rolls.#12 Robert Weiler Lotus eleven Climax. Some marks on negative
#30 George E. Tilp, Paul O’Shea driver Mercedes-Benz 300SL roadster winner. One additional negative of this car
#107 Chuck DietrichElva Mk II
#43 Raymond Henley Lancia Special (in picture with #107above)
#32 Norman Webb Alfa Romeo (3 additional negatives of thiscar)
#128 David Elder Alfa Romeo
#8 Barry Budlong AlfaRomeo One additional negative of thiscar
#22 Suzy Dietrich? Elva MK II
#77 Chester FlynnFerrari 500 TR One additionalnegative of this car
Pictures in negatives that are not above. Note negatives are rolled up and want to stay that way when you unroll them.
#46 Thomas Payne Porsche 550…bottom of picture washed out (picture 17). This has been cut from one of the longer negative rolls and is only 4 1/2" long if it matters.
#91 George Thomas Maserati 300S. One additional negative of this car. One looks a bit grainy. Both pics do not have the entire car in the frame...grainy one cut off just after rear wheel, other one cut off just after middle of rear wheel (pic 14).
For US shipping, I charge the exact price that I pay. Will only ship international through e-bay international shipping program. Note, unless something has changed, I recently learned that e-bay does not allow me to combine shipping when selling through e-bay international.
