This listing is for a lot of six original editions of The Detroit News documenting the 1967 Detroit Riot as events unfolded over six consecutive days.
The collection begins with the July 23, 1967 edition published on the day the Detroit uprising began (but printed before/during early events of the riots), followed by five consecutive editions documenting the escalation and response over the following days.
These newspapers were collected and preserved by my father while living in Detroit during that time and have remained together for decades.
Included issues:

Condition
These are original newspapers from 1967 and show expected age-related wear, including toning, folds, edge wear, and small tears consistent with vintage newsprint. Please review all photographs carefully, as they are part of the description and best represent the condition of each newspaper.
An excellent collection for historians, collectors of Detroit memorabilia, civil rights history, journalism, or vintage newspapers.
