Here\'s a vintage U.S. flag flown over the U.S. Capitol Building on July 17,1974. This was approximately 3 weeks before President Nixon resigned.
Included:* 3\'x5\' Bull-Dog Cotton Bunting U.S. Flag; Made in USA.* Original box for the flag.* Letter from the Architect of the Capital dated July 18,1974 and addressed to Representative Robert Leggett indicating that the flag was flown over the US Capitol on July 17, 1974.* An envelope for the Certificate (letter).* An information card titled \"Only YOU Can Prevent Premature Flag Failure\".* A pamphlet titled \"The Flag of the United States of America\".
The flag is in good vintage condition. There are no stains, tears, or holes. Because the flag is cotton, the white stripes have oxidized in places to brownish orange. See photos. The box has some slight peeling at one corner. A previous owner wrote about the origins of the flag in pen on the box cover.
