underground newspapers ever published in the American South.
Founded in 1968 by Atlanta activists and journalists —
many connected to Emory and the civil rights movement —
it covered what the mainstream Atlanta papers would not:
police brutality, the gay community, feminist organizing,
radical politics, and unsparing arts criticism.This is Volume 8, Number 7. The papers final year.
