1978 Hostess Hand Cut Partial Baseball Card Box Advertisement Yankee Ron Guidry For Sale

Up for sale is a very rare vintage 1978 Hostess Hand Cut Partial Baseball Card Box advertisement featuring former Yankees Co-Captain, Louisiana Lightning, pitcher Ron Guidry. Condition is \"acceptable\". The cards themselves are hard to come by in good condition. Box pieces like this are even more difficult to find and make them a very highly sought after collectable.

This box piece was cut from a Hostess Suzy Q\'s Box that contained Hostess Suzy Q\'s cakes and 3 baseball cards in a panel. Up for sale is a partial box piece, but no cards themselves.

The box piece is very irregularly shaped. It is very colorful on the front and includes a tiny image depicting the Ron Guidry card. It also features the Hostess logo. The rear of the box piece contains an advertisement for a Baseball undershirt that\'s one could send away for at the time. The piece is in decent shape but contains surface scratches, scuffs, corner and edge wear, soiling and staining and some discoloration and yellowing due to age.

It would make a great addition to the collection of any Ron Guidry or Yankees fan, Hostess memorabilia collector, or a collector of \"oddball\" baseball card or memorabilia collectors.

The 1978 Hostess baseball card set consisted of 150 cards. The hand cut cards measure approximately 2 1/4\" x 3 1/4\" and the 3 card panels measure approximately 3 1/4\" by 7 1/4\". The cards were made available, printed in three card panels, on the bottom of specially marked family size boxes of Hostess snack cakes such as King Dongs, Cup Cakes, and Twinkies. A baseball card album to hold the cards was also issued. There is additional interest in the Eddie Murray card number 31, since this card corresponds to his rookie year corresponds to his rookie year in cards.
