1992 MADMAN 11x17 SOFT-CUT FINE ART LTD EDIT. PRINT SIGNED BY MICHAEL D. ALLRED For Sale

Up for sale is thisrare 11"x17" Madman Polymer Fine Art Print signed by Michael D. Allred. It's an early-career promotional item featuring Madman fighting off against giant tentacles in Snap City. The print was produced as part of an extremely low run (No. 193 of 199) created exclusively by Allred in July 1992 for the comic shop Words & Pictures in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
As indicated in the personal letter (included in this lot), this unique print celebrated the release of the original 3-issue Madman comic series. Because it was gifted to local pull-list subscribers and never sold commercially, very few copies survive, and there is no record of one ever hitting the open secondary market! This print was sent directly by Allred to the legendary DC Comics Art Director/Editor, Neal Pozner, (famous for designing the 1980s blue Aquaman suit and hiring many iconic creators).

Provenance:From the collection of a former Design Coordinator at DC Comics (DC Direct division), who worked directly with Neal Poznerin the 1980s-1990s.Dozens of his items from his personal collection can be found in my sales history. This is one of the last items being listed here that came from his estate!Condition Disclaimer: This item is listed as "new" because it was never displayed. It has small imperfections both from being handled (carefully) and possibly a few small manufacturers "defects".
