1995 Phil Morgan Seagrove NC Crystalline Glaze Studio Art Pottery Vase Signed For Sale

This hand-thrown vintage 1995 studio art pottery bulbous vase by master ceramicist Phil Morgan of Seagrove, North Carolina features a technical crystalline glaze with bold cobalt and sapphire blue crystal blooms over a pale cream celadon ground. The squat ovoid cabinet vase stands exactly 5 inches tall and features a hand-signed and dated base by the artist.

Condition:

The vase is in excellent vintage studio condition with no chips, cracks, fleabites, or repairs along the bulbous body or wide-flared rim neck. The interior is completely clean and the high-gloss glaze surface is wonderfully shiny and reflective. Natural to the technical cooling process of high-fire crystalline glazes, a fine network of webbed background crazing is visible on the lighter celadon sections under close inspection, adding authentic depth to the artwork. The unglazed bottom features a bold hand-signed marker autograph and date from 1995.
