VINTAGE GLEN COURT DRAPES
TWO PANELS AVAILABLE
EACH PANEL IS BEING SOLD SEPARATELY WITHIN THIS LISTING
Iconic 1930’s design featuring strikingly lush floral bouquets that ascend the length of the fabric
The palette consists of deep rose pink and magenta blossoms blended with soft buttery yellow and cream accents and highlighted by olive and sage green foliage on a warm cream ground
The fabric is barkcloth…a sturdy, heavy weight cotton with the traditional nubby momi weave we all adore
Each of the panels measures 31” across the top, 79” in length, and open out to 44” across the bottom
The bottoms have a 4” hem and there is also an additional 7.5” of fabric on the header if you are repurposing (giving you over 90” of fabric when everything is taken apart)
Selvages are intact and marked
Each panel is fully lined with the classic creamy gold cotton lining fabric common during this era (hard to capture in my photo with the autumn sun streaming in)
The tops are finished with flat pleats…five per panel
These panels are in very nice, vintage condition…the fabric is sturdy, strong and free from UV issues. The colors are rich and saturated. The linings are clean and intact.
There is some streaking near the tops which I show in my photos…this can often be lifted by an extended soak in an oxygen based product or hydrogen peroxide
Given the almost 100 year old age of these and the rich ground color I don’t think these marks detract from the beauty of these gorgeous panels but that’s me…I love a bit of patina in my decor
I have been laundered these in a gentle cycle with dye/perfume free gentle detergent and hung them to dry
They are ready to hang as intended or be reimagined into a wealth of other gorgeous home accents
