This is an amazing (and very large and heavy) Darth Vader statue produced in highly limited quantities by the Compulsion Gallery of London in 2000. One of the most striking Star Wars collectibles/pieces of art you will ever see.
The Compulsion Gallery was authorized by Lucasfilm to produce a limited number of statues of four characters: Vader, Boba Fett, C-3PO & R2-D2. Each statue is numbered and the total production run for each statue could not exceed 2500. However, they were only made as they were ordered, so it is highly unlikely anything close to 2500 of any character was actually made. They were very expensive for the time, including shipping from London.
The statue is made of high-density resin, which is then thermal-plateed with lead free pewter, hand polished, and then lacquered. The statue sits on a black marble base, and there is a metal plate on the back of the base that confirms where it came from and shows the limited numbering. This particular Vader statue is #404.
The statue stands about 32\" tall (including base) and is about 21\" wide. It weighs over 40 pounds outside of the box, and weighs over 50 pounds when inside the shipping box. The dimensions of the shipping box are also approx 40\" by 30\" by 20\" so it would incur oversized packaging surcharges.
I do still have the original box in which it arrived from London, which features heavy-duty customized, form-fitting foam protective padding. If the buyer is unable or unwilling to pick up in person, I am willing to ship it (within the U.S. only), so long as buyer pays the actual shipping expense. A shipping charge of $750 will be assessed at purchase, and if it ends up costing less than that, I will refund the difference to the buyer. Item would be shipped, fully insured, with either UPS or FedEx, at seller\'s discretion.
In-person pickup is also possible with prior arrangement. I live in the Des Moines, IA area. I\'m willing to drive an hour or so in any direction to meet a buyer for delivery. If buyer chooses in-person pickup, he/she agrees to comply with the following to evidence the completion of the transaction: (1) Pose for picture with boxed statue. (2) Sign and date brief written acknowledgement of delivery (to also be signed and dated by the seller, with each party to receive a copy for their records). (3) Leave immediate response for seller so that the system recognizes that the transaction has been completed.
