Genuine original antique vintage extremely RARE April 14, 1906 historic San Francisco California pre-earthquake full scenic bay check payable to the French - American Bank of San Francisco in the amount of $75.00 signedOptometrist Dr.Louis Kuttner drawn on the Hibernia Saving & Loan Society Irish funded bank.

Dated a few days before the tragic San Fransisco earthquake & fires. This document likely passed through a city that would be 80% destroyed less than 100 hours later on April 18th, 1906. Most banks, including the Hibernia, had to wait weeks for their massive steel vaults to cool down before they could even be opened to process financial records like this one

Earliest known full scenic background check that I\'ve ever seen. And it shows the SF bay area before the bridge was built! Probably only one known still in existance!

Excerpt below from style=\"\">After the destructive fire of 1906, Dr.Kuttnerorganized the San Francisco Association of Optometrists, of which he was secretary for a number of years.With the loyal support of all its members Dr.Kuttnerworked untiringly and effectively to increase the membership of the association. He has traveled throughout the United States and has had the privilege of meeting most of the celebrities of his profession, including such noted optometrists as Drs. Topaz, Arrington, Prentice, Cross, Wall, Augustine, and Needles. Opening an office in 1902, Dr.Kuttnerwas located in the Phelan building for eighteen years and now occupies a suite of rooms in the Russ building. He was the first optometrist in San Francisco to purchase and use a complete modern optical bench for doing all kinds of optical work, including surfacing. This was supplied by Mr. Graves, who was then the treasurer of the Standard Optical Company of Geneva, New York.
