You will need to call or check AA.com to confirm you flights is available for upgrade, I cannot do this for you. ALL SALES ARE FINAL, but I am always happy and willing to transfer your purchase to another flight prior to the Systemwide Upgrade (SWU expiration date). These SWUs are valid through March 31, 2027. Will need to travel and fly by 3/31/2027.
It's always best practice to find a flight that has 'Systemwide Upgrade' availability first and book that flight and reach out to me quickly to apply the SWU. If you don't choose a 'Systemwide Upgrade' available flight, then you can be "Waitlisted," but there is a chance you will not be upgraded. Again, we can use it on any of your other flights.
Systemwide upgrades can be used:
On American: To upgrade most Economy or Premium Economy fares to First Class or Business Class (depending on aircraft). Some flights only have Business and not First Class. Ticket must NOT be Basic Economy (Code:B those fares are not upgradable).
On British Airways: To upgrade most Business fares to First, from Premium Economy to Business, or from Economy to Premium Economy when flying transatlantic.
For one-way travel for up to 3 flight segments on American Airlines marketed and operated flights or British Airways marketed and operated flights or British Airways operated flights marketed by American.
You must have at least one American marketed flight in your trip to be eligible.
*On American, Business tickets will upgrade to First. For Economy tickets, it depends on the aircraft and destination:
In a 3-cabin aircraft, you can upgrade from Economy or Premium Economy to Business.
In a 2-cabin aircraft, you can upgrade from Economy to First for domestic flights, or from Economy to Business for short-haul international flights.
Most customers use it for the longest legs first.
Please note, this is a SWU upgrade and there isn't a physical ticket that I can mail you as doesn't have a way for me to list it as a E-Ticket.
