Made to the exact standards as used around 1916-1919 by the Auto Club of Southern California. This guide sign was posted on Route 66, 91, and 395 in California at Cajon Pass. This was the way over the final mountains before entering Los Angeles. An original of this style of guide sign, complete with the logo of the Automobile Club of Southern California, would cost many thousands of dollars if it ever came to the market. This is a faithfully rescaled remake - the original is 24 x 18 inches, and this has been scaled to 20 x 15. The more compact form allows for more wieldy display. The sign weighs about 8 pounds.
